The Castle on the Hill
Escape to the Castle on the Hill B&B at Uki, in the beautiful and scenic Tweed Valley of Northern New South Wales, where art, science, philosophy and architecture blend in a uniquely beautiful way. As our guests, discriminating travellers can relax in one of our unique, luxurious rooms, and be enchanted by this unique building, with its majestic, sweeping views and natural surrounds. Begin your day with a full buffet breakfast, then take a stroll around the extensive landscaped gardens, and view the artworks of the Castle's resident artists.
Enjoy a glass of wine in one of the courtyards, or in the indoor atrium. Hand built by artists, Robert Pope, Robert Todonai and Irene Brown in the early 90s, the Castle on the Hill will take your breath away. Its enormous hardwood beams and stone and mud brick walls conceal numerous hidden niches, in which interesting artworks and sculptures wait to be discovered. The gallery and museum house major artworks by the two Roberts, both of whom are established Australian artists.
The Castle on the Hill is central to all the cultural and natural attractions that the Tweed region has to offer, including World Heritage rainforests with bushwalking facilities, world class beaches of the Tweed Coast, and several country villages tucked away in the hills with their own brand of relaxed, North Coast culture.
